As the pandemic has clearly demonstrated, the food industry is the main sector that is the basic need for human life along with health. Other sectors are complementary to human beings as a living organism. The demand for food, which is essential for the continuation of life and therefore permanent, also occupies an important place in world trade.
If food-related chapters are taken together, global food exports, which is approximately $1.6 trillion, indicates a size close to 1/10 of the world export volume. The size and structure of the land, climatic conditions, being on the coast, the presence of lakes and rivers are determinative as areas of comparative advantage in food trade.
On the other hand, developed countries can increase productivity with the use of technology and good agricultural practices and feed their populations by meeting their needs through imports despite disadvantages such as soil, climate and water resources. As a link in this chain, we continue to work with the foreign market, especially on the food products of the Amanos and Taurus Mountains region.
